Well, Hello! My name is Kate Rautenberg and I am a fun loving photographer with a gift for gab. I am also a mother, a wife, a sister, a daughter, and a world traveler. It is hard to pick just one facet of my life to tell you about because they are all important to me in their own way. But, if I must focus on just one, my role as a photographer would be my favorite.
I first discovered my passion for photography while in high school. With the help of a talented photography teacher I was able to understand the importance of not only the technical part of taking a photo, but also being aware of the feeling a photo creates once captured. Every great photo has its own tale to tell, which can be felt by the viewer when looked upon.
After high school I put my passion for photography on the back burner of life, as I became more focused on my other love, working with children. Throughout college, I worked hard to become a teacher and mentor for students and parents. I taught early childhood education of ten years in the public school systems spreading my time between New Hampshire, Wyoming, and Vermont classrooms.
Recently I have started a new chapter in my life as a stay-at-home-mom,for my sweet two year old girl, and her soon to be little sister. I am excited to take this leap, as it also gives me the ability to focus more on my beloved passion of photography and my small business I started 7 years ago. Armed with the latest Canon gear, I am once again allowing my creative juices to take control.
My style as a photographer is best described as journalistic, but I have been known to throw a few more traditional feeling photos in the mix, if the mood seems right. My philosophy is to allow each subject to create the moments naturally with a little help from me to put my clients at ease.
I invite you to take a walk through my portfolio, and catch a glimpse behind my lens to encounter all the beautiful things I see. Don’t forget to check out my competitively priced packages to find which one is right for you.
